A Box of Chocolates!

Hello and Good day!! The sun is shining and Spring is only a couple weeks away!! Things are looking up.. Yesterday I finally got around to working on some craft projects. Working with my hands really brings me a sense of peace.. I can delve into something and just let my cares go..I've been saving this Whitman's assorted chocolates candy box since Christmas..I new one day soon I'd make something cute out of it!! A month or so ago I posted about Decoupage and using seed catalogs to decorate with! I have so many seed catalogs right now..alot of them I will never order out of..but waste not want not!! I found out yesterday that seed catalog photos while beautiful and colorful are hard to work with because the paper they are printed on is light weight and wrinkles easy. So I used a combination of seed catalog photos and scrapbook paper. I used the scrap book paper on the top because lets face it..that's the Highlight right there!! I used the seed catalog photos to cover the sides and the back of the box. You start off painting a thin layer on the spot you want to cover, you then press the paper or photo in place. I tried to smooth everything out as best as I could. You then put a layer of modge podge on top to seal it all down. You let it all dry and reseal it again. I also distressed the sides with ink, and used some stamps, and a few stickers. I think it really turned out quite lovely.. It's already full of seed packets..Can't wait till I can get those started!!
