In The Ivy Moon....

With the Full Moon soon approaching I will have lots to do, such as getting the gardens cleaned up, and baking some tasty treats for the celebration... It's fall, the temperatures are cool, awesome! This is one of my favorite times of year...My kind of weather. The ivy moon is a powerful time of year...a time to shed the old year and the past...put it behind you and let it go....along with all the other baggage that holds you back... This is easier said than done and every year I try and do this very thing. But although I'm not sure I've ever... really put it all behind me. I think each year I chip more and more away at it, and become more of the person I'm meant to be. So write all the things down you wish to rid yourself of and burn them in the fires..Also the Ivy Moon is a amazing time to connect with your ancestors, and delve into the magic and wisdom your past holds...hmmmm..meaning receiving messages from your ancestors, and uncovering your own past lives. Don't get confused here...Yes let go of the past that's damaged you...move forward, but never forget where you came from, and the power and magic of those before you.. Be a seeker, search for your own personal truths..who you were?? May tell you where your going?? Smile..wink
As the year comes to a close and Samhain approaches, the Ivy moon rolls in at the end of the harvest season. Ivy often lives on after its host plant has died -- a reminder to us that life goes on, in the endless cycle of life, death and rebirth. The Celts called this month Gort, pronounced go-ert. This is a time to banish the negative from your life. Do workings related to improving yourself, and placing a barricade between you and the things that are toxic to you. Ivy can be used in magic performed for healing, protection, and cooperation.
